Default Removing intake cover?

Will this cause any harm to the car? I removed my intake cover because I like the raw sound of it.

i wouldnt do it.. will just get your intake filter dirty more quickly.. just buy a K&N or AEM for a real "raw" sound.

Go for it if you like your car louder and slower.

You may experience some heat soak but, no harm from running without it I dynod my car with and without the lid a few years back and picked up 2 hp without it. That is with the hood up and a fan on it. With the hood closed and in traffic I do not think there would be a gain with the lid off.
I liked how cool it sounded too

I took mine off for a few days last year. It sounds really great, but on a warm/hot day in traffic it felt sluggish so I put it back on. It did give me the fever for an intake (which I haven't gotten yet).

Try it for a couple days and if you like the sound then look into an intake.

It makes less power, but you won't notice unless you're trying to go 10/10ths. For regular cruising, it sounds good, but the higher operating temps will strain the engine a bit more.
