Default Removing and Reinstalling Rick's Badges

I had some work done to my car for the past couple days.. the work included repainting the trunk and the front bumper, the two spots where I had my (expensive as hell! ) custom badges (Rick's) installed. I didn't want them to scrap the badges (as they proposed) so I asked them to try and salvage them..

To make a long story short they managed to do it pretty well, what they did was use a heat gun and carefully heated it up and pulled it off.. when it came time to put them back on they just reheated the back of the badge and stuck it back on. It worked perfectly!

They said they spent around an hour trying to remove it, but they did a good job!

i have also just pulled them off and put them back on...
you have to be really careful when getting an edge so as not to damage the badge. then remove by lifting very slowly. when reinstalling, be sure to firmly press the badge all over. (also be sure to mark with masking tape where the badge goes before removing).
i have not tried the heat gun approach, but it sounds like a good idea as long as you are careful not to overheat (and melt) the badge...
