Default Replacing bottom seat

Is there any video or step by step instructions about how to replace the bottom seat? Is it very difficult to replace?

You can swap left and right seat bottom cushions.

You can swap, but they are not identical.

I was putting stress on the side bolster getting in and out so I changed how I do that.

I sit down at a 90 degree angle first and then rotate to get my feet in. Don't even touch the bolster and the seat bottom is unchanged over 5 years of doing this.

The bottom is dead nuts easy to replace- remove the seat, unbolt the bottom from the top. REMOVE the hog rings. the seat bottom comes off once they are all removed. The sponge bottom with the seat bolsters will likely need to be rebuilt- easy for an upholstery shop- I paid $40 for the rebuild. OR buy a new sponge bottom. I PAINTED the metal seat pan.

Then, put the sponge back in, Put the "leather" cover back on. Replace the hog rings with hog ring pliers. REBOLT the seat bottom to the top. Put the seat back in the car.

good luck

My car had 8.5K when I bought it from an 80 yo grandmother who weighed about 100Lbs and still, the seat bolster on drivers side was a bit crushed. I use your method to get in and out and I don't think I've damaged it further. But, it does drive me crazy that it is a bit damaged and someday I will fix it.

Can you just go out and buy a brand new seat bottom?

You can, but it's not cheap...
