Default Replacing older seats with newer ones...

Anyone know if the seats from an '07 model are a direct fit for an '03 AP1?
Thanks
Lee

Have you tried?

The floor pan has got to be the same.

Its worth the shot if you have a buddy with a newer model S2k.

i agree. i think the overall body/floor pans etc are the same. I know they tweaked the door panels for the AP2's but i can't see changing floor pans to accomodate new seats.

I just did it recently. The passenger seat is a direct fit. The drivers seat rails are different. The wiring for both seats are different. The passenger seat wire's harness is different from ap1 and ap2. The wiring is different on the drivers seat too.

I unbolted my ap1 seats and they will come completely apart after you remove all bolts. Then I put my ap1 rails on the ap2 (2007) seats. This way I didn't have to worry about the wiring. Now I have a set of ap2 rails lying around along with my disassembled ap1 seats.

The work will take some time but I am very happy with the results.

I heard that the leather is different, but haven't confirmed.

leather is a bit softer (IMO) and the bolsters seem to be a bit bigger/stiffer. I think it's a more comfortable seat.

My MY00 does not have a wiring harness for the passenger's side.... Only the driver's side. That I believe is only used for the seatbelt warning light. If you are good about the belt, and dont need the light, that circuit can be easily bypassed. I am not sure hwo the wiring has changed, though.... They may have added more functions off of the wiring (maybe related to SRS unit?)...
