Replacing one rear tire

This may sound strange, but I think it may work. I have a brand new rr, and a rl with 8200 miles on it. What if you put oil, or something slippery underneath the left tire and leave the right one on the bare road? Just poped into my head

for what? to even out the wear? or reduce traction so neither tire has good traction?
