Default replacing side mirrors? need a "how to" guide

I tried searching for a guide on how to replace the side mirrors but the threads dont have any pictures. Can anybody give me advice on how to take out the side view mirrors? I dont feel comfortable just sticking on the news ones with some double sided tape.

There isn't much to it. The newer the car, the easier. You just pull steady from the top. You're undoing some goo behind the mirrror as well as the clips. As far as I remember, there are 2 clips on the top, 2 in the middle, and 2 on the bottom.

MUZ has instructions + pix on his site.

Use a hairdryer to heat the whole assembly a little, then firmly and slowly pull the mirror out of its shell. There is some sticky, putty-like stuff helping to keep the mirror in place. Once you get the mirror out, take as much of this putty as you can reasonably remove and place it on the back of the new mirror, then fit it into the spot vacated by the old one. As I recall there are some little plastic hooks on the back which help to assure correct positioning. It was really easier to do than I expected, and certainly worth the effort for better rearward visibility.

Well I tried prying it with a flathead screwdriver and it scared the crap out of me. Out of fear of breaking something I left it alone. I just taped the mirrors on and it REALLY bothers my eyes to look. I dont know if this is common until my eyes get used to the convex shape but my eyes hurt as much as putting on prescription eyeglasses even though I dont need them (if you experienced it before).
