It is like a different car. The TSB work on the transmission and the replacement clutch (flywheel, pressure plate, disk, & bearing) has made a big difference in my car.

The transmission has never shifted this smoothly. It is not as notchy and it synchronizes perfectly without a hint of grind.. and it is QUIET! This is the way it should have been when new!

The new clutch is a silent wonder. The take-up is smooth and sure and the clutch has never been this quiet. Even with the top and windows up I can decelerate from 7K in first or second without the god-awful racket I used to get.

After only 30 miles.. all city with a hundred shifts, I like the car better than I ever did. The only downer is a mark on the passenger seat where something with sharp edges was press down and left a deep impression. I reported it immediately and told them if it didn

Chris, what clutch did you end up putting in? Is it the new, improved stock clutch? Do you have the part number for this?

After being told my parts are on order, I'm still waiting a month later to hear from the dealer.

Yes, it took two weeks to get all the parts to finish..

The paperwork shows that the dealership was directed by the Honda Tech Line to replace the clutch. Parts listed are:

22100-PCX-005 Flywheel 6234124
22200-PCX-005 Disk Comp 6234132
22300-PCX-005 Disk Comp 6234140
22810-PCY-003 Bearing 6234157

Yes, Honda paid for the rental.

I wonder if there will be any recourse for those of us with no grind symptoms but with clutch issues...

Has anyone heard anything?

They will only respond if you go in and complain.

Thats what it says. I expected only three parts.. a disc, pressure plate, and TO bearing. Don't know why I got a flywheel, just hope it is not heavier..

(Ford did that when faced with clutch failures.. I guess slowing the revs saved clutches).

Chris, do you have any idea if/when they started putting those parts in new ones?

Do you think you could sit down in any S2000 and drive and listen for a few miles and figure out if it had the older sychro & clutch or the newer one just by the sounds?

Is this something someone could tell who hadn't driven "before" and "after" ?

Barry
