So, almost every day, someone either gawks at my S2000 or simply compliments me on it with a "nice are" - either way, I find myself not knowing how to respond...

What do you guys say when people compliment you on how amazing our cars look?

I usually get "Nice S2K" and reply with thanks greatly appreciate it unless I get the question of "is that a Honda" and respond with yep they don't make them like they used to lol

 

Yup I just say thanks very much.

One time I went to visit my aunt, and her middle-aged neighbour was outside and he was going nuts over my car, literally heads over heels about it. He could not stop complimenting it and talking about it, it was actually a bit too much. I had to start downplaying it, by saying the car is "okay" and it's "just a Honda", to get the guy back down on earth. That was the only time when it felt uncomfortable.

I stopped taking the car anywhere around clients that I work with, last year I drove it to work and one of my clients thought I was literally driving a Ferrari or a Porsche. She didn't know what it was but she figured that it was a very expensive sports car. I had to tell her that her minivan was likely worth twice as much as my sports car, just to bring her back to reality. lol.

I get out of my car in a parking lot. Guy walks by "Nice car man!"

I reply "Thanks, you too"

 

If it's a man I say "thanks I like it'. If it's a good looking lady, I offer her a ride in it.

 

"It's more than you can afford, pal!"



Lol, j/k - just be simple, and say "thanks".

 

Scream "No it's not!" then burst into tears and run away...it's how I get the ladies.
