Response to compliments
You will get all sorts of comments on the S, most are "that ain't no Honda".
Oh, I tell them "Thank's, its my wifes car"(because it is).

"Thanks" or "Hey, thanks, bud"
And I dont know why that one guy is so cynical about people thinking the S2K is a super expensive car, very possible especially when they aren't common everywhere, and nobody knows what they are, usually. Especially with certain mods.
When I'm downtown, or at the riverfront in Cincy, people look. It's not Cali, but plenty of big dollar cars downtown everyday all day. People stare, you hear people asking each other what it is, you see people's head turn, follow you. Women love it.
A LOT of people admire and comment. I also do think there are specifics that make or break people's perception. I think a completely stock car on AP1 wheels, is probably not getting that reaction. My car, I thinks looks classy/catching with the SBC on Suzuka, and no amber with that front splitter. But to add to the "race/fast" perception it's also slammed pretty good, and is super loud (Header/Test pipe/Invidia N1).

For instance once I throw these wheels on the car, it's going look like a tuner toy, and the 'mystique' will leave:

I have a Evo X, and only fanboys pay that any attention, and thats more expensive than than an S2K. I think that speaks for the S.

On another note, some of the other S2000 drivers that I encounter while driving will wave. As a motorcyclist, we brothers have a special "wave." Is there a special wave, or sign to flash at fellow S2000 drivers, or is it a simple "wave?"

I usually just say thanks. Sometimes though the person (usually a guy) will linger and start to ask me awkward questions, like how much did I pay for it, what kind of engine mods have I done, is it faster than X, etc. In those situations I try to politely deflect with vague answers.

I'd just say thanks.
And whoever is having the issue where people mistake it for a ferrari... you live in some urban ghetto or something where a civic gets mistaken for a Bentley too? Reality requests your return.. lol...
