Shingles,
We had a dynoday recently in Atlanta (you can find the thread) and we noticed the same results on cars that had the header/intake/exhaust combo. As a matter of fact, the Injen intake caused HP to go down in consecutive runs.
I am able to confirm for you that we noticed the same spike in hp/torque at the same point before VTEC the way you did.

Just wanted to let you know.

Cheers,

Probably because the car was getting hotter.

shingles,

Thanks for the excellent report bud. Overall it was still a good buy because it is lighter and created some gains. I bet when you install a supercharger the headers will have a more benificial role in the breathing of the car.

it seems like someone on here said that with the SC, there weren't a lot of additional increases that were seen with ECU and headers, I could be mistaken, but i seem to remember something like that..

My thoughts exactly, it isn't a total loss, it is just not what he expected before...

Shing,

Talk to UL. He has a Mugen header and pretty much gets the same results. A lot of help in the mid-range, but not much anywhere else. At he last meet, I was asking him how much of a difference the header makes, he told me it only helps at the mid-range.
