Retainer Check DIY
SO i just got ahold of a different honda center and they said that it would cost me $350 to check my spring retainers to see if there cracked or streched and thats alot of money plus i would have to drive 4 hrs...
I have searched around for over a hr and half on here and havnt found anything so does anyone know of a step by step do-it-yourself to check my valve retainers to see if they are toast and need to be replaced?

- remove dipstick, pcv hose, breather hose
- remove ignition coil cover then coils
- remove cylinder head cover

- remove cylinder head cover
Closing things back up is the reverse of the above procedure.
On page two of the thread there is some discussion of using a dental mirror to look for cracks under the retainers, but that is not necessary, because if the retainers are cracked, the keepers will be recessed.
Hope this helps.
