Won't the car itself beep if it goes that high?
our cars have a "built in" shift light, so to speak, but most people don't realize it.

only problem with that "built in" shift light is that it only blinks at pretty much the same instance as fuel cut off.... least from my observations

To my understanding the rev limiter is set around 8900 rpms...it can go up to 9100 but usually thats when you bounce off the rev limiter. This is my observation with my VAFC.
I have hit 9015 and 9058 RPMs on my VAFCII it will hold your highest RPM hit.

It will blink 3 times before you actually hit the fuel cutoff. I generally time my shift to start after the 2nd blink, and am able to do so without hitting the rev limiter.

you'd have to be going down one HELL of a hill to cause a mechanical overrev when accelerating to the rev limiter.
An over rave is where you party all night long at a swinging club.

Who let the car go down hill untill RPM goes over 9200 by itself.

Shift after 2nd techo blink is how I do mine too, but some places you gotta keep an eye on many things, it's not always possible to glance down.
