Default Rev-matching

Hi! so i got my s2000 almost 2 months ago so i would say im still a new owner. Moved from a g35 coupe. Both amazing cars. Anyways, i had a question. When I rev-match while downshifting, is it bad to blip the throttle too much? i remember this guy telling me its bad to blip the throttle too much while downshifting. I got worried because im not perfect at downshifting yet and sometimes i blip the throttle too much occasionally...thanx for ur opinion guys.

It's probably worse blipping not enough than too much.

I wouldn't say it's necessarily "bad" for the car. You're just slightly increasing the wear on the clutch, and irritating the diff. But hey, that's what clutches are for, at least you're trying to help it out, rather then letting it do all the work.

I don't see how blipping the throttle before engaging the clutch to rev match would cause any more wear and shock than regular shifting. I do it all the time.

By the way the way, I'm going the other direction...looking for a g-coupe. I would love to hear your opinions on how the two compare.

Agree with everyone else.

It's not as bad as if you weren't revving enough and letting it catch itself.

You won't always have it perfect. I still screw up after driving stick for 3 years. haha.

haha forsure. the g35 coupe is just like a more heavier and luxurious version of the 350z. It might be a tad slower. I would recommend getting the MY05 and up models on the G cuz they come with rev-up engines that make 298 hp and a 7k rpm redline (assuming u get manual). In terms of acceleration, I would call it even. The s2000 is much lighter with better power to weight ratio, but the G has almost twice as much torque. The g35 acceleration is linear while the s2000 is peaky. Both fun ways to go fast. In terms of handling...the g35 cant compete with the S2k. The interior and electronics obviously go to the G. Better sound system, refined interior, just a lot more commodities. The backseat is also useful too. I know for sure you will love the exhaust note on the G. One of the best stock exhaust notes in the market. Just consider the G35 a luxurious 350z. In terms of appearance, I think the g35 and s2000 look good in their own ways. The s2000 looks cool of its edgy looks while the G35 looks handsome because of its round and curvy shape. If you happen to get the G, i guarantee you won't be disappointed. Its a fantastic car.
To summarize everything:
1.acceleration s2k=G35
2.handling s2k>G35
3.practicality s2k < G35
4.owner satisfaction s2k=G35
