Just realized this morning as I was backing out of the driveway that our s2k speedometers actually shows our speed in reverse!!!

This is the first car I have with a digital speedometer..., so I was just wondering if this is "normal" for all digital speedos or is this something special from Honda?

I'm now tempted to Vtec it backwards and see how fast I can go!

Holy cow! S2k's can go 48mph in reverse!?!?!

 

Actually, this is pretty common these days. Most modern cars have electronic speedometers, including those with analog displays, and will read the vehicles velocity regardless of whether it's traveling forward or backward. Same thing applies to the odometer.
