I have gotten to 602 miles on the odometer. I've been checking my oil religiously. is it safe to Vtech?

 

It is finally safe to VTEC!!!!! GO kick some Ass! Have fun and don't even bother shifting until you get just under 9,000!! Woo Hoo

 

having returned from my first vtec drive all i can say is wow!!!!
it was worth the wait.

Unless you're gonna keep it in 1st gear to the redline and just shift like a pu$$ to 2nd ... Generally, 2nd gear in VTEC breaks at least 90% of the world's posted public road speed limits.

 

THe 600 mile mark is not a magic number or a binary switch. If you did not vary the engine load enough during that first 600 miles, I am not sure it is as broken in as it should be. In any case, the engine continues it's break in process till about 7500-10,000 miles depending on how it is driven.
