Revving Engine while parked
Xviper I was actually hoping you would come in and give a detailed explanation like you always do on these things. I did learn something today, I guess ive never actually had a car long enough to notice the damage ive caused. I understand what you are saying though, a long hold of the throttle with no load can cause damage. A simple rev match isnt dong much.
I apologize for my ignorance, I was going by my and others experiances. Thanks for the explanation though, I hope when i get to my "old timer" stage i can be as wise as you.

I think if you rev in neutral, lubrication wouldn't be as good as when the car is moving and under load due to lack of splashing, just a guess. I think it is worse for the Cat than the engine for reving in neutral.
