The book is wrong. This is not a typical "locknut". It is an ordinary deep flange nut, with no locking characteristics whatsoever. With that, they can be used over and over.
Maybe someone who has actually worked on one will chime in and confirm.

i've taken my header off and on more than I can even remember and they are NOT locknuts, they spin off and on easily. With that said, i've used the same nuts for 3 years now and never ever replaced them.
Never even changed the manifold gasket either and no leaks...

While I have nowhere near the mechanical experience of the above, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.
Actually, I just put the stock header back on yesterday. I can confirm that the nuts are not locknuts. I can also confirm that two of the nuts are harder to get to than the rest.

I thought I would bring everyone up to date on the status of header production and delivery.
The manufacturer is wrapping up production. At this point they have completed enough to fill all of the group buy orders. We are now working to arrange most efficient and timely shipping. A shipment of this magnitude from overseas is something new for us and it has caused some consternation.
The vendor ( our guys here is the US) qouted a turn-around time of 2 months . But we found out later that time frame was for manufacturing only and did not include time to ship them to the US. (like we did not need them here in the US, go figure. ) So right now we are working to get pricing for shipping these into the US so we can deliver them out to you. It is harder then you would think to get shipping prices from 1/2 way around the world.
So as it stands right now , there is a large pile of brand new S2000 headers sitting 1/2 way around the world just waiting to get shipped. As soon as we have the shipping arrangements finalized, we'll post an update.
Since Rick and James are as eager to get the headers on our cars as you are to get them on yours, we're doing everything we can to expedite delivery.
Thanks, and if you have any questions, let me know.
