Rick's Leather Visors
Has anyone had problems with getting the leather visor covers to fit properly? I just received mine and for the life of me I cannot get the zipper to meet to close it up. Either the set I have was made a bit too small or a whole heck of a lot of stretching is required. I do not want to force the product for fear it would split. I will probably have to contact Rick for a return. Just wondering if this was a common complaint.
Yes, they are made to fit very tightly, so you have to pull and stretch. I've asked James Mullins to check this thread to help you out, since I've not installed these myself.
There was another long thread on this, but the search engine doesn't seem to be working properly and produces nothing.

lots of stretching and pulling will eventually get them installed... as i posted before, once i got them zipped up i removed the zipper handle so it wont rub on the car- (actually i removed the second one before i installed it and used pliers to zip it up with).
they are very tight and should be tight to look good.
pretty sure you cant split them-

Thanks guys for the quick response.... 1-hour later, many raw fingers, I got it! Your confirmation that they were to be tight gave me that extra energy jolt to continue my stretching. They do fit very nice and I am happy with them....

In previous site versions the search engine used to be one of the site's best features and very useful for researching vendors, products, ...anything really. Unfortunately the current search engine is sadly lacking all but the most basic functionality and even that seems to be a hit and miss affair.
Krazik agrees the search engine has shortcomings and since we've endured those shortcomings for quite a long time now I recently asked him if he could possibly move it higher up the priority list.

I received mine yesterday. The driver's side slipped on so easily that I wondered if I was doing it right. The passenger's side was considerably more difficult but still took perhaps 10-12 minutes, tops. With all the pulling and tugging I was worried that I would split mine, too, but they hung in there.
I took wanabe's advice and removed the pulls. The installation looks good; the slip-ons are a huge improvement. The visors now look like they should have from the factory. Sharp-eyed passengers might notice the zipper if they flip the visor to its down position, otherwise the mod seems fairly invisible. As for daylight observation, I didn't take the car out of the garage to check thru the windshield toward the visor cuz it was raining this morning.

Without a decent search engine a lot of useful site content from the past couple of years is buried, lucky to see the light of day again.

I am very anxious to cover them up!
