Default Rick's Voodoo shift knob~

First of all, uber thanks to Rick. I ordered this on Sunday and recieved it today! That is incredible service! And omg the feel of shifting is sooo much better now!

*Ahum* So I got the aluminum pearl shift knob with the 6 speed engraving. I take off the old shift knob and the lock nut off and simply screw in the voodoo knob. However, the shift pattern is crooked completely and there's no way I can screw it in any further.

The original lock nut won't fit with the voodoo knob soooo...

Is there another lock nut I need?

I think you can stuff some toilet paper into the shift knob untill it sits right...

Right idea, wrong material. Use a very small, thin, washer instead. May have to use more than one to get the right orientation.

I also just received my Voodoo knob from Rick's. Not sure if I like it, feels really big (I have small hands). Feels like my old muscle car shifter.

I believe you use a few dabs of loctite. I also think there are a few strengths (symbolized by color) of the loctite and for your application, I believe you use blue?

Someone please do correct me if Im wrong.

You can also use the search if you already haven't.

Hope that helps!

Sounds kinda scary. Why not just use Elmer's glue to be sure that itll come off if you need it to

If you use Blue Loctite, you will be able to remove the knob. Red will have to be heated to 550

I used blue Loctite on my engraved knob. It took some effort to get it off (by hand only) when I sold the car but it came off clean. Use Loctite!

Yes, Loctite is what you want to use...available at Home Depot or Lowes.

There is two colors you can consider using. Blue will hold it tight, but if you decide to change it later you will be able to take the knob off. Red will hold it very tight, and good luck ever removing the shift knob after using Red.
