I dunno, he obviously doesn't know how to handle the car. I don't think it is the brightest idea for him to replace this one with another. He should atleast take some Skip Barber classes.

There is a reason (actually several) that Ferrari won't sell an Enzo to just anybody, but S2000 owners should be able to trust their tire dealers to put the proper tires on the car. They really should not have to know such things themselves, because like it or not, anyone can buy these things, and most people are at the mercy of their service providers.

...shit happens, life goes on, lesson learned... nobody ever deserves to get hurt in an ACCIDENT. People make mistakes, nobody is a perfect driver, the thrill of a car is the risk we take in it. If there was no risk, there would be no adrenaline rush, and therefore, there would be no sports cars or people JOY riding because it would be NO FUN!

Glad to hear they are ok! close call... at least they were wearing their seatbelts.

Thanks for sharing this. We all need regular reminders.

It looks to me like the car has S02's on the front and some other brand of tire on the back. As a consumer your friend should be able to trust any tire dealership to install safe tires on the car. The tire dealer needs to know that he screwed up and almost killed a couple people. If he isn't informed, he is likely to make the same kind of mistake again and again until he kills somebody and/or gets sued. Ignorance does not excuse negligence when tires are your business.

I'm sorry guys; Many of you already know how much I hate frivolous lawsuits, but this kind of thing makes me mad. If it were me I'd be talking to a lawyer, if for no other reason than to stop an inept tire dealer from killing someone.

TexanS2k, I'm glad your friend and his brother weren't hurt any more than they were. This kind of thing shouldn't happen to a dog.
are you kidding me??? The driver/consumer decides what tires he wants to put on the car. If the driver/consumer is going to be dumb enough to mismatch tire sizes and brands then he should be smart enough to not be gunning it on public roads.

glad to hear the occupants were safe. Stupid judgement call on the driving, but thats another story... Either way, glad that the s2k held up to its safety standards as designed.

When he got the car the rear s02 were worn. I told him to replace the s02 with s02 or replace all the tires. I think there were 2 issues here.

A. He was not aware the the S02 on the rear even thou there were 225, they truly are 245 and should have been replaced with a 245 rear tire.

B. He miss matched his tires.

As for people say he was not safe or mature etc.... Everyone has an opinion, like the have an a$$ hole. I place things like this on the board so every can learn from the accident. Not to hear how he was unsafe or dumb. This acciedent happened on a highway and he was less then 10 MPH over the speed limit. I love to drive my s2k fast. I go to west Texas 5-6 times a year just so I can drive fast and play with the car. Its not fun to lose control like that I have done it I just had a field to run off in to vrs a culvert.
