Just curious, did you just recently get the car? It shows you've only been on the boards for 12 days so I was just wondering. I'm glad your ok though...Car can be replaced.

Yeah chief, that car is *dead.* I mean, anything can be repaired with enough effort... but the frame will never be as rigid as it was, and the damage is heavy enough that even if they repair it well, if you get in another accident it won't be pretty.

You have full insurance, right? Because if so, you'll probably be able to walk away and get a new car. And make sure that you retain ownership of the wreck yourself; the parts can probably be sold for at least a couple grand...

the bigger question is do you really want that car back to fix it up.

it's much easier and cheaper to start with a straight platform than "i guess it's straight unibody"

thats looks like alot of dmg from the picture, might have been total, from that picture looks like 3 wheel of the 4 is shot, hood, fender X2, front bumper side skirts. sorry to hear about the lost, i havent have any problem with the rains or do i drive alot in rain
His front looks very similar to my car. The car barely has any frame damage. What little frame damage there is will be easily straightened. Its been a week since my crash & it already has a new suspension on it at the shop. I may get it by the end of the week!

In my opinion,i think they might fix that. if that frame is not too bad, they'll fix it. if the frame is twisted, its done.

I say let the insurance pay for anotehr one. Don't take their bullshit of having it fixed.
