Default Road Rage over HIDs? (somewhat verbose)

Friday evening around 9:30 I was driving my S2000 into Sacramento at a reasonable speed. As I pull off the freeway I noticed that the older Escort that was in front of me for a while was now on my tail. I didn't think too much about it as I figured he wanted to play a little bit. I ignored him and continued toward my destination. A few blocks later I stop for a red light and I can now hear him behind me screaming and yelling at me. "I am going to f'n kill you. You better not stop because you're dead!" Friendly stuff like that. Now I consider myself a courteous and safe driver- I always use my turn signals, don't follow too closely or cut people off. For the life of me I could not imagine what I did to this piece of human flotsam that made him ready to kill. I decide that I should not pull over to find out nor should I let him follow me to my destination. I take a few side streets to see if he will follow. Sure enough, this guy is not letting up. After about 10 minutes of threats at every stop light and driving faster than I like to on surface streets, I take a ramp back onto the freeway and lose him easily. Later, as I ponder the whole incident over a beer, I finally realized that my headlights must have set him off. He never flashed his lights or mentioned the HIDs during his threats.
If you're out there buddy, I'm sorry and next time slow down a little, let me pass, and then resume your speed. My taillights are not nearly as bright.

I have a similar story while driving in my Prelude. Driving in the country outside of austin, I see my uncle in front of me and there are 2 cars between us. Its a two lane road (Speed Limit 65) and the yellow is striped so its legal for me to pass. So I punch it to about 75 and pass the 2 cars and pull in behind my uncle. After awhile I notice a Taurus behind me flashing her lights and riding my ass. I wonder what I did at first, then we turn onto a a street heading towards my uncle's house. So I can hear her now yelling stuff at me. I stop the car and she pulls up beside me. I say "What the **** is your problem!" She says "Cmon mother****er" and trys to attack my car with my sister in the passenger seat. So I take off. She follows me a bit, then I have a clear piece of road and nail it. She turned around then. I hate rednecks. She musta been drunk.

Almost got into a altercation in Ft. Lauderdale with a carload of guys (that were in front of me) as they accussed me of constantly flashing "high Beams" at them. I must have been far enough back to continuously catch the edge of the beam cut-off as I went over slight bumps in the road creating a imaginary "flash" near their rear window line.

I could hear them yelling as I pulled next to them.... But when they saw (2) big guys were filling the little S2K, they shut-up pretty fast. It wasn't until minutes later I thought about it and realized what they meant.

No other problems lately except everyone "high beams" me (head-on) thinking I have on the brights almost everytime I go out at night.

Something comical about saying "somewhat verbose" instead of "long"

I guess living in the Bay Area where every fifth or sixth car now has HID's. I dont even notice them anymore. And I dont get flashed nearly as often as when I first got HID's (on my 99 TL) in '98. Maybe when HID's get more affordable and more cars have them, peeps will chill out. I mean, once they drive with HID's, they'll never go back to incandescent.

Sorry to hear that peeple rage of the headlights. i mean geez, at least i'd want t have ACTUALLY offended them, you know?

Similar thing happened with the HIDs on my S4. Some hick in a beat up van followed me for a half mile flashing his high beams, then when he pulled up next to me at a red light he started screaming about "those f'ing lights, get them replaced" blah blah blah. Some people...

For some reason I get a little angry when people keep high-beaming me right into my eyes, so I make them understand and show them the real highbeams too!

Not an Stook owner yet... but on my current car (too embarrassed to say what it is), I can adjust my headlights with a screwdriver. Can the same be done with the Stook?
