This happened to me a few times after first getting the car, luckily it never rolled into anything besides the street! I ALWAYS pull the brake handle very tightly now and haven't had a problem since. I too assumed it was from the brakes shrinking as they cooled off, never experienced such a drastic change in any other car though.

And according to TexanS2k, his car was parked in gear (and the e-brake engaged) and it still rolled (but it was on a slope). Personally I have never seen or heard of a car rolling while parked in gear, but they re-created it with the dealer mechanics. So I guess anything is possible. Good luck.
I've seen that happen before, if the slope is steep enough the engine drag isn't enough to hold the car back and the engine will just start turning over as the car rolls. Its actually really funny to watch cars do it since they roll in very jerky/jumpy motions. I had my Talon do it once, but never my S.

happened to me as well was a on semi-slanted slope and pulled up the ebrake not all the way though maybe 3/4 and didn't put it in gear....five minute later I hear someone honking their horns outside looked and saw my car blocking half of the street......lesson learned as I always leave it in gear now.......

So, what do I do? I am going to report it to Honda, and I assume they will have a dealer service department look at the car. That's 4 or 5 points and $1k deductable. This sucks.

I had the same experiences with the E-Brake as well.

It didn't hit me as hard until my car rolled down the parking space which it was parked and onto a curb (No damage xD).

Now I ALWAYS leave the car in gear lol xD

Lesson 1 - ALWAYS park in gear

Lesson 2 - doesnt always pay to increase your deductible to decrease your insurance payments - $1k YIKES! It only works if you know youll never have an accident - and if you knew that - you wouldnt need the insurance in the first place!

So basically, I'm screwed. Anyways, insurance company tells me to call Honda. I wait on hold with Honda for 30 min. before I talk to anyone, and she tells me the insurance company opens a claim with them, not a customer. They are real helpful. At least one of them should look at the ebrake to see if it's possible if Honda is at fault.

This is especially bad news to us remote start owners... I guess I will only use that in my parking garage now since I have to leave it out of gear...

ebrakes suck in general not just honda. im glad my roll was into a front curb instead of back into someone else's car. taught me fast to leave in gear at all times.
