Roll Back on driveway
I've read and heard that cars can still roll back even when in gear. I suggested that I use my wheel chalks when I park somewhere hilly, but still then the car can roll back and go over the chalks.
Chocks.
Is the car a certified used car, or did you have it since new? Did a dealership do all service to the car, or did you have an independant shop do the service?
00CivicSI has a good point. This can easily be the dealership's fault if you can prove that THEY performed the service that was last required, and that the e-brake tighten service is supposed to be included.
I don't have my owner's manual with me, but it's in there.

I bought the car from a private seller 2 months ago. I had an independent shop inspect the vehicle before I bought it. I also have all receipts from the previous owner, which states on 5/13/05 at 24,201 miles, that a 3750 mile server was completed. Service A11. Which was just oil change, washer drain, oil. It was a Boch Honda in Norwood, MA. It doesn't specify if the e-brake was inspected or tightened. My manual is in the car at the body shop.
