Trouble getting into reverse when on a slope?
My dad was making a 3 point turn yesterday, and he went up someone's driveway, but he somehow ran into some bad luck and in between the 2 driveways, there's a lil hump, and his tire managed to get on top of the hump. He needed to reverse to turn out of the driveway, but the gear wouldn't get into reverse. He said he had experienced it a few times, where if the car was sloping backwards, the gear woudln't go into reverse, whether the car was moving or not. Have any of you had this problem? He thinks its a safety feature where u wont need to put it in reverse since the car can roll on its own, but I really doubt that it is, and what if you were in his situation where it was sloped back but it couldn't roll? Quesios/Comments appreciated
That's not really a problem. Happened on every manual I've ever owned, and I doubt it'll change.
There's nothing wrong with the car, it just happens. Drive it forward a pinch in first, then retry reverse. Voila.
