Default Rolling slow in 1st gear?

Hello fellow s2k owners,

I have had my s2k for a month now, and love driving it! Sadly, I am still getting the hang of my first manual car. I am having trouble letting go of the clutch to let it roll in first gear. I have to let it go real slow, or else if I let it go too quickly, the engine will bog and shake. Is this normal, or can I fix this so that I can roll faster? Thanks in advance for helping me not burn my clutch!

If its bogging then that means you probably aren't giving it enough gas. When I first started driving this car it took a while to get used to it. With time you will get the hang of it.

I thought the car could move by itself if you release the clutch without giving it gas?

Yeah you can get it to sort of scoot a little but it still needs some gas to really get it moving. I also live in a hilly area so I normally cant get it to move with just releasing the clutch unless its really flat. Some experts can probably chime in here to give you better advice than I can because I have only been driving my s for about a year so I still have lots to learn also.

on a cold start and flat ground yes....otherwise not really unless you're pointed downhill.

Like it was said, on a cold start your rpms are already high enough to get it rolling without giving it gas "throttle"

if it's shaking, you just need to push the clutch in just a little bit more..

you can move without giving it gas.. just find the point where it catches..

when you find it, you can roll foward or backwards with just the clutch
