Default Rotella engine oil

Has anyone heard of using Rotella oil in a turbocharged or N/A f20/f22 engine?

My main question would be the the zinc content, and how that would effect the valvetrain, especially with VTEC.

Modern engines are designed to live without zinc. Rotella or ZDDP additives are usually used in older classic cars.

i know alot of guys in the EVO/STI community who use it, and keep low oil temps, and good oil preasure. that's why i was wondering if anybody with a turbo s2000 was using it or not.

i was just wondering if the honda valvetrians got along with zinc or not.

thanks for the advise.

I used it in my STi without any problems. You could check blackstone to see if there is any analysis posted on it

If you are talking about the T5 series 10W-30, I think it would be an excellent choice for an S2000 in a temperate climate. Here's a link to the product from Shell:

http://www.shell.com/home/Framework?siteId.../t5_detail.html

I've been following the testing of this 10W-30 T5 on another forum on late model GM VVT DI engines and they show promise, especially with high fuels dilute environments.

I think that poisoning of catalytic converters would be a concern using Rotella or other oils formulated for diesels.

Rotella T Synthetic is one of the favorite motor oils in the sport bike community because it's very shear resistant, something that any high revving motor could benefit from.
