thebrakeman.com
warning: his stuff is expensive, send him an email /call for recomdateions. his wave rotors are for looks and daily dirving only. any brake upgrade seems to cost about $4K, i would 4sure do this if i tacked my car.

with oem rotors consider:
-Axxis Ultimate pads
-ss lines
-upgraid the fluid.

OEM unless you go with a complete kit with calipers, rotors etc, but that is big dollars. I had slotted cross drilled on my Alfa with no problems, but it's obvious that people do run into problems.

Unless you're a gluten for punishment or deep pockets, I would stay OEM. Pad are specific to your application.

I ordered cross/drilled rotors from brakezone a while back. I think they are the same as wanabe's.

Does OEM strictly mean from Honda? Like lets say I go down to a local Autozone and ask for oem rotors for my S. Is that still the same? Are the parts from autozone generic oem and not true OEM??

At Evasive Motorsports you can buy all four rotors made by Brembo for $290, but a set of OEMs can run $300+. Brembo makes some of the best braking systems in the world, I find it hard to believe they would do us wrong. Has anyone used Brembo stock replacement rotors on the S2000?

wanabe what you mean by installing them backwards?
look at them carefully and you will see that as the rotor turns into the pad the slots are not "biting" into the pad...
if they were turned around, the slot would hit the pad and bite into it- would stop faster (theoretically) but would also use a lot more pad and that causes the dust.

did this help?

A generic brand and oem are usually different. OEM means that it comes from Honda and it is the same part that came with your car stock. Autozone usually won't have that.

I went for Spoon front drilled rotors because I used to track the car. However I drove it on the track only once since the isntall and put 10K mile on the street on them.
Each and every hole cracked north and south, so there goes the QUARANTEE from Spoon how good their rotors are and how they do not crack

I use stock pads for your reference and only street&auto-x her.
I purchased a set of 4 slotted and cross-drilled rotors from Jcarlton (S2000 owner in Florida), his company Cryo treats the rotors to virtually eliminates stress cracking and warpage. I think they are Bendix rotors that are machined then cryo treated.

Did a lot of research into what Cryo treating actually does, checkout http://www.frozenrotors.com.

20k miles so far with no issues and I'm very hard on the brakes. No track days in these rotors yet but many mountain drives, I've had no time to get back to the track since I put the rotors on the car. Last time I checked there was no cracking that could be seen with the naked eye.

If I had it to do again I'd consider the Baer Eradispeed (+) or DecelaRotors. http://www.baer.com. These are OEM replacements from a reputable company that offer a lifetime warranty against warping.
