Default RS-R exhaust problems/issues...

I am having trouble taking the silincer out for the first time (or at least I think its the silincer). Also I can't figure out if I have the right kit. I have a 2004 S2000 and have a feeling I got a pre 04 exhaust. How could I check this or is the exhaust the same for all years... Thanks.

1) Make sure it IS the silencer you're trying to remove. It should be an ultra-restrictive looking thing that's held on by at least one bolt.

2) Once you've determined that it is in fact the silencer, wait for the exhaust to cool down completely. This will allow the metal to contract back to normal size (metal expands with heat)

3) If all else fails, make sure the retaining bolt is removed, start the car, and rev off the limiter until it flys out the back

4) and if THAT fails, tie a string around the silencer, tie the other end to a tree, and drive away (visions of that GEO rear bumper tow job video)
