mlc: a girl once TOLD me that my car (she didnt know it belonged to me) was a miata. and with the authority that she said it, i didnt want to argue with her and just let her keep thinking it. but it did bothered me for the first few moments.
i've let my one friend drive it. and twice he over revved. i replace the retainers and still let him drive. he just knows to be more carefull next time.
i also let my other friend's lil brother learn to drive stick in my S.

gbmurderer13: I understand people have a love connection with their cars.
but i see it as a material item. if mine gets busted, i'll go out and find a new one. theres plenty of them for sale. it's not worth being mean to my fellow humans. .....or dogs. i admit it, i've allowed fat chicks rides in my car before. doesnt bother me. being nice to other people makes me happy.
happier then having a smoke free car.

i guess i'll sit on my hands when i go for rides in your guys' cars.

Here is food for thought: My passenger seat bolsters are moer worn down than my drivers, and for the 9,000 miles I have on my car, probably 500 miles or less are with a passenger!

My side is prestine! It is all about the entry and exit of the vehicle. Lift the butt, turn, and exit.

jeggy, I only wish we all had your prospective. I try, but I most admit it is hard at times. If I totaled it tomorrow financially I would be fine but emotionally I would be a wreck.

And I know my son is not learning stick on the S. He can do that in the Passat.

When people slam the door or push the window to close the door, I kind of want to strangle them.....

Ugh, me too! The only thing worse than handprints all over the car is handprints on the glass.

I dont mind letting people drive my car though as most people can operate it competently. I did have a friend nearly lose it last time though around a turn b/c he didnt know it was so twitchy. One thing I do enforce is no putting things on the top if it's up, ie anything more than a pound or so.

Man honda couldnt of thought of a worse place to put a cup holder.... its so uncomfortable trying to shift with a drink in there. I always just put it between my legs, or if its closed on the seat. My old miata had the cupholder in the same EXACT spot. Soooo annoying

if you're in my ride, then you're cool w/ me. i wouldn't give anyone a ride, you know what i'm saying? i don't really care if they smoke, eat, drink, put their feet up on the dash or out the window. just enjoy the ride. =]
