Default Running in?

Any advice on how to run in a brand new S2000? Number of miles before using extra set of cams, max speed, variability on speed, etc.?

Thanks in advance. I can't type in my car number yet because I don't have the car until end of week.

Dave

use the search feature....you will find tones of related topics!
all i can suggest is that you dont get into VTEC untill you pass 600miles, dont be hard on the brakes and on the clutch and you will be fine

600 mile break-in and take it easy for the first 1000 miles at least.

When you get the car, have a good read of the owner's manual. This question along with many others will be answered.

Extra set of cam lobes would be more accurate.

Break-in on the Euro version (and JDM for that matter) is 1000km, which is about 660mi. The USDM lists break-in at 600mi. So take that for what it's worth. I would wait (in fact I did wait) to engage VTEC which is at about 5500RPM.

Check the FAQ thread at the top of this forum

Read the Owner's manual when you get the car. It is not very long and offers a LOT of information that is different that you might expect.

Thank you for this information. I don't have the car yet which is really why I was asking the question. Only 2 days to wait!
