Default Rust and Battery Help 700km !

Okay guys, I was cleaning the car and when I was done I notice that my entire rotor was pretty much yellow. I went ahead and wipe off some of it, and it seems to me that it's rust. Did any of you guys experience the same problem? basically the disk the part that u can see through the wheels are yellow and I can tell that the rotor it self (center side of the disk) is pretty much fully rusted or yellow. Is that just break dirt or is this rust? I didn't not buy any additional rush protection then what came with the car. Help!

2ndly I was cleaning my engine bay and notice that as usually there is some kind of residue build up around the battery. What is that residue and do I need to take and special precaution when cleaning it up?

Thanks again.

You will have to live with the fact that the rotors will rust (and fast) after washing or driving in the rain. The battery is probably some corrosion. Some baking soda and water will remove it. Afterwards put some lithium grease on the posts so it will prevent it from happening again.

If it's corrosion on the battery, use a can of Coke, don't ask me why, just that's what works best.
