That is damn sweet, but the price tag! For a kit like that I don't want to pay more than $80. Perhaps someone can do a group buy or something (not likely... but I can dream). I want to see what other people do before buying one. Hopefully you guys can post pictures.

Does the Nano work with an Alpine KCA-420i adapter?

I think he's talking about the 4-pin remote connector that's next to the headphone jack on the regular and mini ipods. the iTrip FM transmitter and other accessories like the wired remote use it, but the nano doesn't have it beacuse of internal space issues. There are other, battery powered FM transmitters you can use, though, and I'm sure there will be a new nano-compatible version of the itrip soon enough.

Neo Ion kicks ass, btw.

They are essentially the same thing, but the Alpine unit is integrated for use w/ an Alpine HU. Also, before you run out and buy one to hook your nano to your S, I'm not sure any of these adapters will work since previous iPods are Firewire and the nano is USB2.

I don't think so. Consider that the only way to have your radio play an iPod and charge it at the same time was to buy an Alpine head unit and then purchase the KCA-#### box to the tune of $400+ this is a pretty nice alternative.......if you're not an Alpine fan you have options

All iPods with the dock connector are compatible with the various iPod integration kits.

USB 2, Firewire have nothing to do with it. The iPods are put into "serial control mode" and play back via simple commands sent by the head unit (or adaptor) on one pair of pins and play back using another pair for line out.

The only iPods that are incompatible are the early ones without the dock connector (1st and 2nd gen) and the iPod Shuffle.
