i tested a monster icarplay on the nano and was very questionable if this was right......
heres what i read to confirm my disbelief of FM.

i dont know much about it but im sure the real issue is...... its a nano theres no space in it to make it FM capable.

I was questioning the 'Apple decided to disable..." bit. Keep in mind the iTrip for the iPod won't work with the Mini and vice versa. So to expect that they would work with the Nano is a leap of faith and saying Apple have 'decided to disable' is putting words in their mouth.
I wouldn't connect any audio device by FM transmission. What is the point in ripping at 320kbps from CD, then transmitting at analogue FM frequencies and introducing all sorts of interference. That said, I suspect any of the FM transmitters that use the iPod docking interface will still work.
I agree the direct connect solutions are too expensive at present but they will come down. Until I can justify one I can use the AUX module on my Sony. The only thing I miss out on is control from the dash, but the Nano is so small I can velcro it to the dash.

FM was not disabled. The iPod never had FM to begin with. What happened was that add-on attachments by 3rd party companies for the iPod and iPod mini won't fit the Nano. It's also possible there's no AUX power on the Nano so it cannot supply power to an FM transmitter. There's always transmitters that use their own batteries. They've existed for years.
FM sucks anyways. At least in L.A. where there's no open frequencies.

That's because you buy cheap stuff

So you know how they are setting the NEO box jumper settings to whatever car you have, so does that mean if i switch car later, I can reuse the NEO box and set the jumpers to something else.. and it will work??
