I dont know if anyone else has this problem but when I put my car in 4th gear and just cruise as soon as I hit a small bump in the road it pops out off gear. Its not just a fluk it happens every time, does any one on the board have this problem?

2001 S2 12,917 on OD.

 

Many years ago, I had a brand new Chevy Vega and I had a similar problem. I took it to the dealer and they found there was some foam rubber in the mechanism that helped pop the shifter out of gear. Once they remove it, problem solved. Maybe there is something like that in the shifter links.

 

Not good. A few members have had this problem and posted before, but the tranny should not pop out of gear. Do a search to see if you can find previous threads.

 

Why don't you just take it to the dealer and get it fixed? It definitely shouldn't be doing that.

It's a undocumented TSB. take you car to pacific honda on convoy they should take care of you, they have a S2000 tech there that is real good. I had my car doing the same thing, ended up having to replace 1-4th gear and syncro as well as all of the collets. Give me a PM if they give you any greif, as only some managers at the shop understand what is going on.
