Default S2000 00-03 Questions

Sup,
I have read all of the searches about the difference between 00-01 an 02-03 to be honest i want the newest S2000 i can afford with the least miles and i really want an 02-03 but there hard to find in my price range but i find a ton of 00-01's. Basically my question is what is the big changes mechanically between the years? i dont care about the chrome around the tailights or the interioir panels. I dont care about the plastic window on the earlier models because i am getting a hardtop asap anyways. Did the 00-01 have any serious mechanically issues you guys know about? Thanx for all the info peace.

Only thing I know is that the 02-03 ECU makes the car run a little bit leaner.

I think the oil banjo bolts in NA cars were upgraded at some point too. Whatever it was, I do remember when I was looking at getting an S something (or enough things) convinced me to skip 00-01 cars and look for 02 or newer, if that helps. It wasn't any one thing, but a combination of little things.

Sup,
Thanx alot for the info. That thread was what i was looking at was making me want an 02-03 but as it stands i have about 19.5k and i am thinking maybe i should just wait a little longer? I found an 03 on ebay with 7300 miles i want but i dont have enough as of now so i might just have to wait idk. I appreciate all of the info as far as the exterior, interior, ecu and, suspension differences i just was worried about maybe the engine internally or transmission? I was also checking out about the Differential what yrs were equipped with LSD? Thanx alot peace

Thats great i didnt know that i just been reading up alot about everything. I was also reading about that clutch delay valve that sounds like it would suck glad i wont be getting an 04 an up even though its not a big deal to remove. Keep the comments coming mostly concerned about the drivetrain thanx peace.

Same here. I've actually had fewer problems than many of the guys with newer cars (LOL, you can't have fewer than zero. )
