Default S2000 for $15500

My son is looking at a 2000 S2000. One owner, 58000 miles, new top with glass window. Owner has had all work done at local Honda dealer. The car looks and sounds good. Only thing I can see is carpet wear on drivers side bar in front of seat. Selling car because new baby. Does the price sound good to you? Thanks

For a 2000, price seems about right for being in great condition.

Sounds pretty good. Wish my parents had bought me a car like this.

Almost all cars have that carpet wear because there's nothing (stock) to cover it.

Fairly standard pricing, IMO.

i would spring for an 02 myself. i think there are other things besides the glass window that would make the extra$$ worth it.

I've talked a dude with a 2002 down to 16500 before I decided to buy a different car. While your deal is fine, I'm sure if you wait till the summer is over you could find better deals..... if i'm not mistaken convertible prices DO go up a little during summer.

Also, just wondering, how old is your son? This isnt a car I'd recommend for a beginning driver. (this coming from a not very conservative person). but you know your son better than I so I suppose if you're asking you've already approved of it.

Why not get it for yourself?

Because his son probably wants his own car not dad's hand-me-down car...even if his son bought dad's car from him it would always be attached to his dad vs having his own car. hard to explain...

lol let the man get an awesome car for his son. the OP should just be warned that the car is for experienced drivers who can control themselves no matter how much fun can be had. but yea that's a great price for those miles. and it's better to get a 2002 or above (glass rear window is way better than the problematic plastic one). wear on the bar in front of the driver's seat is normal in this car, though. you can get a good quality aftermarket mat that fits over it if it's really bothering you.

if it already has a glass roof I'd say go for it, the plastic window is the worst part about the 00-01. The other differences are too minor to justify the price.

Sorry, not to hijack, but if that MY00 S2000 is worth that, than my MY00 with 29K miles, with Hardtop, and in excellent shape should be worth 17-18K, right? Just curious of my value.

I paid that price for the same mileage from a dealer. I'd think if it is private party you should be able to get it cheaper than that.
