Since the complaint index is in the form of car ratio...the S2000 scores high!

"The 2002 Lemon List

Thanks to the efforts of the Center for Auto Safety, we are able to provide you with the vehicle complaints on file with the National Highway for Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Each year, thousands of Americans call their government to register complaints about their vehicles. The federal government collects this information but has never released it to the general public. The complaint index is based on a ratio of the number of complaints for each vehicle to the sales of that vehicle."

interesting. but I think people expect a bit too much, especially from a hand built car. but then again, being a hand built car, there aren't enough dealerships that give it the respect it deserves.

The S2000 is a hand built car? All of it or just parts of it? If just parts, then what parts are they. Thanks.

The S2000 is not completely hand built, however, it is built more by hand than any other production series automobile.

Honestly, there are just some things that a human hand could never do and that's where those robots come in!

Most of S2000 is hand assembled by humans not robots. But it is not hand built in ways that Aston Martin and TVR are.

So, on a percentage scale 0-100. What % of the car do you think is handbuilt? Im glad to here its at least partly hand built. I like that in a car.

if they are to product 9000+ S2K a year ...
that means they have to crank out 24+ S2K per day ... !
plus i heard that S2K is being produced at the same factory as NSX ...
so the number of NSX produced has to add to the 24+ S2K per day number ...

they work hella fast~

Wow, this is a good measure of quality! Of course, there is no mention of what complaints there are. Sounds like: "Engine blew up" is counted as one complaint and "It's hard to launch well without dumping the clutch" is another.
