Default "S2000" Badge Location - Always the same?

Hey guys. I just bought an S2k yesterday... I love it! I do have one question though. The S2000 badge on the fender is about 6 inches down from the sidemarker. Every single pic I have seen of S2k's... they were beside the sidemarkers.

Was there a small production of cars where they relocated the S2000 badge? Its a 2002 model. We ran a carfax and everything came back clear. The bolts on the fenders have never been tampered with. The badges are in perfect alignment, and look completely factory. The car is in like new condition and runs smooth as it could ever be. The badge thing just dumbfounds me a little bit.

No, from the factory the emblem has always been next to the side marker somebody must have removed it from your car and then put it back at some point in the new location.

Maybe somebody moved your side marker 6 inches up. Ever think of that?

Sigh.. that's what I thought. Those are glue-based badges? Do you think there would be a mark in the paint if you blowdryered them and pulled them off... with some Googone to removed the residue?

you should be able to get it off with some floss and light adhesive remover, and there shouldn't be a mark underneath

Yes, glue base, or more like double sided foam tape.

The way to remove them is with a piece of dental floss, you sort of slide it between the body and the glue tape, then use googone to finish up, and then wash the area to remove the googone.

My concern would be they were put on by a body shop that did not know better after th car was repaired.

Wow.. never thought about the dental floss. That rox. Well, I'll definitely do that. They bug me being that far down on the fender.
