My Oem battery lasted about 40k miles. I've been running a Hawker ever since.

I had to replace mine this past spring after 33,000 miles and 3 1/2 years. About what I expected from the Honda OEM battery. I wish I'd looked on the S2Ki store for the battery. I ended up buying a Diehard.

The battery was just put in the store a few weeks ago.

I'm at just over 3 years, 40,000 miles. So far so good with the original battery, but I'm thinking of getting the Hawker to replace it before it dies.

Is there a simple way to test your battery to see how much life it has left?

Here in Florida, where the heat can be a bitch, factory batteries are usually good for about 2 years before they shit the sheets.

It also gets pretty f'n hot in Texas. That'll contribute to a problem.

MY01 with 5200 miles has died twice this summer. I keep it in storage out of the elements a bit. Not surprised the first time as it had sat in storage for 2 months or so without being started and hadn't been driven in 5 months (michigan winters). But then after sitting for a week it was dead again. Was concerned I had an electrical system problem until I read this thread. Purchased the car 12/2000 so 2 1/2 years on the OEM battery. Will see how it goes. I have a starter in the storage garage and in my home garage so I know I can start it any time but if it keeps going dead I'll replace the battery. Is the lighter battery only good for warm weather? will look into it
