s2000 "black box" ?
If I knew it was in my car I would try to disable it. I own the car and I own the right to do what I want with it and that includes breaking the law if I so choose.
My guess is that its a great idea for everyone else but in truth if it were used against any of you I think you'd be singing a different tune. For example, I hit 122MPH the other day....... on a dyno.
Invasion of privacy is never a good thing.

agreed, the Big Brother concept can go only so far before its ludicrous aka a speed ticket from 3 weeks ago. (hmm, doesn't that sound familiar with photo radar or stop light cameras??)
Keep in mind this until only records the last 5 seconds before impact, not your whole car's history.
Also, even without black box, I would laugh at a technicians if they tried to deny warrantee for hitting VTEC too much. That's why the red zone starts at 9K, not 6K.
Finally, no one ever said "Just don't break the law", because EVERYONE speeds. It was more along the lines of don't do anything excessively stupid IE: 3 times the speed limit
EDIT, after reading the last post:
That is the most irresponsible thing i've ever heard!! Do you have that same view on drunk driving? Hell, its your car, its your liquor.......I really hope not. Maybe I'll go out and buy a black market assault rifle, point it at a crowd of people, close my eyes and pull the trigger. Odds are I probably won't hit anyone, but hey, its my gun and I have the right to do whatever I want with it, even if it means breaking the law.

Carelessness/recklessness is not OK. However, there's a question about where to draw the line and I don't like the gov't following everything I do. Would you like it if they put camera's up that canvased all publicly accessible areas, streets, sidewalks, shopping centers, etc? The pro argument is that if we all knew we were being taped all the time crime would go down. However, I'm not willing to give up my privacy and freedom for that. Ben Franklin said something like "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety" (stolen from Ludedude's sig) and I agree with that.
No offense taken. Yes it is in the Consitution, you are thinking about a drivers license which is a priviledge not a right. The car is a personal possesion.
Just a thought for 03ap1, don't you think they ought to install a video surveillance system on kitchen knives? That way if you ever stab someone to death they can incriminate whoever is wielding the knife.
Its the freedom to choose what is right and wrong that is important, some choose to do wrong, I only stated that I wish to retain the right to choose between the two, nothing more.

Douge, you could argue that every single item in this world would require surveillence, because almost everything can be used to kill someone.
Of course everyone should have the right to choose, its human nature. If there was no choice, then our lives would be mapped out from birth till death. Jeez, I'm sounding like the Merovingian.
However, with choice comes concequence. Causality. If one chooses wrong, one must be prepared to face concequence.
I'm not arguing that we need to be monitored 24/7, however there should methods in place to prove the circumstance that has led to damage, injury or death.
I think this is a perfect example. It doesn't measure your entire driving habit, it only measures the seconds leading to the incident.
What if you were driving 50km/h in a 50 zone, and a skateboarder zooms out in front of you and he's killed. Witnesses who were friends of the kid say you were speeding down the road at least 80km/h.
Do you still wanna disconnect that black box??
