S2000 Driver, I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. I think that the aero kit for the S2000 looks like an aftermarket add on, and that rear spoiler tarnishes the clean factory styling. It's like adding a wing to a Modena, and no-one would do that, except the Challenge Cup racers!

To me the rear brake light looks weird bulging out the top of the trunk with out the spoiler. The rear spoiler covers this up. The rear spooler is the right balance between an aggressive wing and nothing but the brake light bulge

I don't wanna start bashing another car and I do like the Boxster S but.......for 25 grand more you don't even get HID headlights??? WTF is up with that? I thought any car over 35 grand came with HID's nowadays.

Whats that in the middle bottom of the rear bumper on the Boxster? Is it tucking it's tail between its legs or are those tail pipes?

Beautiful car, wonder how much a used Boxster S will sell for in a couple years... hmmmm could be very tempting.

Available "sport rack" for carrying bikes, etc. on roof

Nice pics! I just couldn't buy or own a white painted roadster.

How was your driving experience!?

He liked it . He didn't say too much, but I did get a rise out of him when I took a corner at a pretty good clip . He used to race cars, but admitted that he could never be an instructer because he hates being a passenger. The Porsche is clearly more refined and felt easier to accelerate. The REAL test will have to wait until we get on the track.

Also, I'd be really interested to know what the ride quality would be like in the Boxter S with the wheels and drop of 1.5". Must shake your teeth out?! Looks hot though!
I was surprised that the ride was not that harsh. The S2000 was more firm, even though the Porsche was lowered.

No Joke! http://www.us.porsche.com/national/models/...ouring/bike.htm

You can just make out the mounting points, nicely crafted small aluminum blocks, at the top of the A-pillar and just behind the door on the top of the rear quarter panel.

Unfotunately I had a passenger experience. I did test drive some standard Boxsters about a year ago and that model has excellent road feel, handles like it's on rails, but didn't have too much oomph. That's been corrected in the S, or at least it sure felt that way from the passenger side of the car .

One of the main reasons Porsche has been so profitable is the fact they are selling so many Boxsters to the US and making a killing on the strong US dollar. This is one of the reasons they haven't really raised the price at all, either.

With that said, Porsche does gouge the crap out of you for options. But the S is pretty well loaded anyway (I don't really miss footwell lights). I only got the sport suspension, the "sports package" (upgraded stereo, wind screen) and a few aesthetic add-ons, and that added about $5k to the price. I would get the exact same combo if I were to do it again. People rave about litronics, heated seats, etc, but I don't seem to miss them at all. (But then I live in warm Texas).

You can probably price a Boxster up to around the $100k range if you really went nuts. I have heard of $80k boxsters. People like that personal touch, I guess. For me, $5k was more than enough.

Just a little comparison info.
