i currently pay $450 for the year with a 3 month layup...so $450/9x12 = 600 per year for my S2000. I have 4 other cars on the policy so I think they are all listed as
"pleasure vehicles less than 8500 miles per year".

I live in a suburb, so there is no crime, etc.....(that helps).

Scot -married with no accidents or tickets (except for that one that DEFENDER got for me. )

I'm 25 and have been shopping for insurance since my car won't be here until August. Progressive quoted me 270/month here in Houston. I got a little nervous since that quote scared me some. Anyway, I went to State Farm and they quoted me $700 every 6 months. Boy, was I relieved. (in case you are wondering, I've been under my father's plan forever and am now going out on my own and the lady cut me a break since my father has all sorts of insurance from them )

Now you young-uns keep in mind that money saved in advance is not always the best thing, especially since State Farm (based on personal experience) and Geico (based on hearsay) don't have the best records of paying out once you have a claim. I have heard Allstate and AAA (which I have) are the best. I have Progressive for my motorcycles, but I'm not sure how they are with cars (apparently tremendously expensive).

I assume many of us will have claims one time or another and that they could run quite high on a car like this. If I were you, I'd be interested to hear from others on their claims with Geico and State Farm before you newts go out and buy the cheapest insurance. Anyone?
