I have had nothing but great experiences with State Farm. I had to make a claim under Farmer's one time when a guy rear-ended me. At the time I had a policy with Farmer's, but I was making the claim on the other guy's policy. Basic story is that they treated me like shit. Maybe it was because I was in college, but I remembered how they treated me. I thought if they treat their own policy holders this bad, how bad could it be when other people make a claim?
When I graduated a year later and got off of my parent's policy I dumped Farmer's as quick as I could and went back to State Farm (which I had before my Dad switched). It didn't hurt that because I was 23 Farmer's wanted to put me in some high risk group and State Farm didn't, saving me about $350 every six months.
I think I pay about $800 every six months for full coverage on my civic and my S2000, which my Dad said is cheaper than what he pays for his M3 and Grand Cherokee in Tulsa, OK.

$1450/yr, 23 yrs old, good student discount of 10%, Chicago Suburbs.
Still on my parents account until they kick me off. Clean driving record with 2 or 3 speeding tickets, actually it probably isn't clean as I am on probabtion for my last ticket for another 2 months, damn!
Pretty much the same rate as my previous car '95 GT Mustang Conv., so rates are good relative.
