Do you guys think the S2000 is here to stay? 2002 model with engine changes, appearance changes? 2003 with a coupe model and more torque down low? Et cetera?

The sales director in one local Honda dealership told me Honda's plans are to build the car for four years total. Have to take this with a grain of salt, however, considering the source.

The dealership that refused my over sticker offer (would take no less than 10k over) also told me that this car was so hot and only going to be around for a year...

thats why its called an S2000... this from the sales MANAGER with his loafers and better than you attitude...

which reminds me that there is now an 01 in his showroom. Maybe I should go back and remind him what he told me, as well as mentioning that I got a car for below sticker (he doesnt have to know it was used) and that I wont EVER recommend his dealership to anyone for sales or service...

Maybe tell him that he is lucky I dont get a small magnetic backed sticker for the trunk that says...

IMO such and such dealer has horrible service.

or, ASK ME about such and such dealer...

I have heard the same model years '00-'03 story. Honda says that is considered to be one "generation" of manufacturing. Beware of what dealers tell you though. I just bought mine this month and one dealership told me it was the last year of production and collectors were paying top dollar. I ended up paying $32,740 for mine at another dealership.

My dealer also told me that this is supposed to be the last year for the S2k. Do to the fact that its hand built. Honda can stop production whenever they feel. But word right now is that this is the last year.

Well, let's not get into this "hand built" thing again, but what "word" exactly? If the "word" comes from a dealer, it's gotta be very suspect.

honda will make the s2000 as long as there is a demand... i dont see them stopping production any time in the next 2 years.
