S2000 or Civic Si
O yeah Markstudy and Junsu... first of all i drive a 06 Si alot... One of my friends has a hooked up Si that i drive when i need some more room.... Exactly what i said FOR MORE ROOM... thats all...
PERFORMANCE wise i dont care how old the s2k the Si doesnt even come close to it.... i dont care who you are... i have driven both cars exstensively and i know what both can do.... the s2k is hand downs better performance wise.
BUT you know what im sorry... im srry if i offended you guys... no s2k owner is offeended except you guys but w.e.... Im the type of driver and car owner who loves performance and thats top priority.... i dont care how harsh the ride is etc.... but thats just me...
And the s2k is no slouch... Iv burned mustang Gt's, a few g35s and 350zs.... and in the durves its no competition....
The s2k's quarter mile is a 14.0 vs the Si's 15.6? Hmmm big difference right?
The SI's skipad rating is around .86? (correct me if im wrong)... the S2k's is around .92....
hmm seems to me the s2k beats the Si in everything performance wise...
so yeah do some research b4 u speak b.c i garuantee your experience in two test drives is nothing compared to how much iv driven both the Si and S2k

most of you people who complain so much about the s2k need to get UR head out your asses and realize and appreciate the s2k for what it is....
it PUSHES OUT 240 hp through a I4.... wtf else do you want... and it handles amazing... goddamn you guys are greedy...
and i didnt go from a 99 civic to a s2k... i learned to drive on a corvette and than a STI and now i drive a S2k and a H3.... and i technically "downgraded" from the STI but honestly i dotn miss it at all.... the s2k is slower but handles amazing...

I just want to say that my 06 S2K is $30 cheaper a month to insure than my 2001 Golf GTI 1.8T GLS.
I live in a city that probably has the highest insurance rates in Canada - so said my insurance broker.
I also want to say that seat of the pants, my GTI chipped feels faster. I'm guesstimating 185-192hp @ the crank after chipping. There is a LOT more torque (230 ft/lb), so yes it feels faster.... but in a straight line, the S will still win. No need to talk about curves as my 01 GTI has stock suspension.
At the end of the day, it doesn't what anyone says, get the car that feels right for you. You can also trade it in and buy something different if you've goofed up. Just enjoy the S for 2 years and then get a roomier car as needed.
Trust me, when you're 70, you'll WISH you had a nice sports car to brag to your grand kids about.

thanks guys, it is great to read all the posts. Man, I never thought this would turn into such a heated debate. So i am still leaning toward the S2000 and i think i will go with the 06 so i can have VSA.
