From a practical standpoint, perhaps a good car for a college student would be the G 35 SEDAN. It comes in a six speed manual, with an engine that's close to 300 hp, if you wish. But the main thing here is that it has enough room to haul a college student's "stuff."

Thanks,
Richard

I'm thinking used. You can get a used G35 coupe now, as well as good cars like used 325s, Accord and Acura coupes, and awd Audi A4s.

Wouldn't a straight A student be able to spell "straight" and "insurance" properly?

I'd say he would be fine with an S, as long as he drives responsibly. Also people have said that you need 4 seats to be able to carry friends around. I'd say 1 seat is plenty for a girlfriend.

for me personally... when I started paying for EVERYTHING on my own and didnt have ANYBODY to fall back too, I started being much more responsible
my parents were smart... they bought me an 800 dollar 1984 chevy caprice in college... I told them I had to have a car... guess I really didnt need one that bad
