Is the S2000 CR a collector's car? Hagerty Insurance thinks so.

For auto buffs hoping they can one day unload their vehicle for a couple hundred thousand dollars at a Barrett-Jackson auction, Hagerty Insurance has created a list of new cars for sale in 2008 that it believes have the greatest potential to be collector cars in 15-20 years.
The 10 future collector cars cover a wide range of vehicle categories and prices. Power ratings of the selected vehicles span from 70 to more than 500 horsepower, while prices stretch from less than $12,000 to more than $70,000. The list consists of the Audi S5, Cadillac XLR-V Roadster, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Dodge Charger Super Bee, Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR, Honda S2000 CR, Lotus Exige S, Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky, Smart Fortwo and Subaru Impreza WRX STI.
Hagerty Insurance specializes in protecting collector cars. In establishing the list, the company looked for vehicles that are pop-culture icons, produced in limited quantities and appeal to the style of the next generation of car collectors. While Hagerty is betting that these 10 cars will be hot 20 years from now, part of the equation is based on the buzz the vehicles create in showrooms today.
