Default S2000 CR Daily Driving in Chicago...

For one, this morning we have this lovely weather to drive in. The "Top Always Down" crowd can have their fun. I like heat.

Haha, rahul, sounds like the letters CR stand for Cool Running in Chicago.

83 here when I went out for lunch today. Tonight the mercury will plunge to the high 40s.

Be safe, crazy up there.

Honda really thought of everything. If only they offered a factory roof rack, and perhaps some running boards, I could hang with the MDX crowd.

The tires, unfortunately, are the Continental ExtremeContact DWS These tires aren't great, even by all-season standards. They're three winters old, but I've never really been satisfied with the grip they offer. I thought I was saving a few bucks, but in the end I'm just paranoid everywhere I drive when these tires are on the car. From now on, I'm just going to get proper winter tires. Of course, the short wheel base and rear-wheel drive aren't doing me any favors either.

The drive in this morning was fine for the most part, as I kept it at 45 or under all the way in. I'd have to slow down more going over some patches however, as the car just felt like the back end was aching to break loose. If we get another dose of snow or cold like we've had in the last week, I'll just get Blizzaks right away...and then I'll work from home because I'm getting too old to keep fighting Chicago weather/roads.

High 40's is no joke for south Florida. Tanning weather in Chicago, but chilly for Miami for sure! Our windchill supposedly feels like -50* today. Media keeps harping that frostbite could set in in just minutes. As for being safe, I'm an idiot who hasn't been bitten for the all-season naïveté just yet. Knock on wood for me and let's hope that the S2000 (and me, of course) don't find ourselves in a ditch during the return trip.

Cheers.

Yep, that's cold!

And I seriously feel bad for that CR that has to ride on the filthy salt infested roads of Chicago.

That's pretty neat, I didn't know CR's gave outside temperature. Or do all AP2's do that?

Do want.
