S2000 CR difference from
I was wondering if anyone knows the technical differences between the S2000 CR sold in the US and the Type S sold in Japan. I wonder why Honda did not give the CR a soft top while the Japanese equivalent does have it, or is it that the CR is more capable than the Type S on a track and in reality not so much of an equal. I wonder...
Anyone?
Anyone?
CR springs are stiffer than the Type S. CR is tuned for auto-x and type-s is more canyon friendly.
They also don't got the rear strut tower brace.
Maybe they got the sound deadening material in the hood and trunk too although that one is a pure guess.

The CR is a more "track oriented" model, it doesn't have the soft top, has extra bracing, stiffer springs, and stickier tires.
The CR also has a different radio door, center console, shift boot, and I believe (could be wrong) door panels and steering wheel. The radior door and console, etc on the Type-S is the same as a standard s2000.
The type-S does come in more colors (all available s2000 colors in Japan) and you can get different interior options (black/yellow is standard but leather can be chosen).
For once it seems like we got the better model, though I'm sure some people would appreciate the soft top option and interior/color choices.
